Mō te tūnga | About the role
As an Administrator, you will interact with a range of staff as well as the general public and external health professionals to help us to achieve the best outcomes for our tūroro (patients) and whānau.
As an experienced administrator you will know what it takes to provide excellent customer service to our patients as well as administration support to the team. This is a varied role so your ability to organise and prioritise your workload, coupled with your desire to help those around you and build strong relationships will quickly see you succeed in this position.
We are currently seeking people that are interested in full-time, part time, casual and fixed term roles as administrator, (please specify in your cover letter what your preference is). Our service is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you maybe required to work some weekends.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing administrative and secretarial duties
- Co-ordinating and managing tūroro (patient) bookings
- Ad hoc admin duties
Ideally, you will have experience in similar roles, including reception, administration, and customer service. You will be competent with Microsoft Office applications, have solid typing and data entry skills, and be quick to pick up new systems. Your empathetic nature coupled with your desire to help those around you will quickly see you succeed in this environment.

- Excellent customer service skills – people focused
- Technically savvy – quick at picking up new applications/systems
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- A team player
- Excellent user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Excellent keyboard skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated perceptiveness and a proactive approach in an administrator role.
Desired:
- Broad administrative experience in a health-related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with the public hospital system (including the patient management system)
- Awareness of people of differing cultural backgrounds.
- Sound ability to supervise, support and train the Administration Team.
- Capable of delegated leadership in the absence of the Administration Service Manager
