The Role: What This Opportunity’s All About

Christchurch Hospital Activity Room is a vital part of our children’s recovery.

Play in hospital helps children and young people understand, cope with illness, regain confidence and express their feelings.

As an Allied Health Assistant you will help support the Hospital Play Specialist Team in the Activity Room working with children aged between 0-16. Your role would be supportive duties related to the maintenance of a safe environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care as well as to provide play experiences and programmes that support families/whanau, children and young persons during their time in hospital.

This is a permanent part-time position (0.5) FTE and we are looking preferably for an individual who has previous experience in a hospital environment and or experience working with children.  Working with families/whānau is critical so your natural ability to form great relationships will be vital. If you are wanting to work in an environment that has great team culture and where you can make a difference, this job might be for you.
