The Role: What This Opportunity’s All About

The Canterbury District Health Board Information Services Group (ISG) are continuing to transform and build capability across our services. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Architect to work collaboratively with the leadership team. You will be at the forefront of reshaping the way we operate to provide the tools for our Information Services team to sustain us well into the future.

ISG is responsible for the provision of a complex set of software and hardware solutions both within the organisation and across the South Island Region. We are looking for someone who is able to provide strategic direction and technical leadership across the Canterbury and West Coast DHB team.  To be successful, you will have solid industry experience and be knowledgeable in the areas of Business, Data and Application Technology. Your particular strengths will be in the Application and Integration space.

You will be interfacing with end users and all levels of Management to deliver appropriate solutions to meet business requirements.  A key part of this role will be to contribute to and drive the Canterbury DHB information technology strategy for the organisation.  You will be working very closely with the leadership team to formulate, evolve and document technology and information services roadmaps for the Canterbury and West Coast DHBs and represent the organisations interests on National and Regional architecture forums. You will also be contributing to the redesign of our solutions for the digital world.

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Services, Computer Science or other relevant field. Additionally, you will have a sound understanding of management processes and practices and be able to demonstrate competence in achieving results through leadership. You will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior consultant, engineer or architecture role with at least 5 years being in systems specification and design.
