Dietitian (Fixed Term) - Diabetes and Endocrinology service
- Fixed-term (ending 31/01/2020) position (hours negotiable to work full time or part time).

The Team: What we do
The Diabetes Endocrinology Service is seeking an experienced NZ Registered Dietitian to join their multi-disciplinary team. Working closely with patients with complex diabetes, requires sound knowledge, skill and experience with Type 1 patients. Experience with advancing technologies, specifically insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems are core practice requirement within the specialist service.
This exciting and challenging role will capitalise on your passion for education as well as your ability to enthuse your patients and motivate real behaviour change. You will enjoy leading and supporting your colleagues in furthering their diabetes dietetic specialist knowledge, professional development, support and lead quality improvement initiatives and regular evaluation of clinical outcomes. You’ll be working in an outpatient setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team, liaising with specialist health providers and you’ll be driven to ensure best health outcomes for people to live well with diabetes.
The Role: Where you fit in
You will provide nutritional assessment and education to patients, both one on one and in advance education groups. You will have confidence and skills in presenting to both patient groups, and health professionals alike. Providing a skilled ability to engage with people in a variety of settings. You will have experience with both type 1 and type 2 patients, an appreciation of gestational diabetes, along with an understanding of partnership integration models shared between primary care, outpatients services and hospital based systems. We are looking for a self-motivated senior dietitian who enjoy a challenge, enjoys innovation, applies health improvement models to practice and is comfortable with change initiatives. You will have a high level for results-driven principles of practice, having a high level of organisational skills and attention for detail. You will be a team-player with a willingness to operate as an educational resource for health professionals, building partnerships with practitioners and patients supporting their self-management successes and challenges.
