The Canterbury District Health Board systematically plan, fund and deliver care to almost 600,000 people that live in the Canterbury region. Within the Canterbury DHB our Gastroenterology Department provides comprehensive secondary and tertiary level inpatient, and outpatient services to Canterbury and locations throughout the South Island.
As a Gastroenterologist in New Zealand, you will have the opportunity to influence the development of gastroenterology services at the regional and national level.
Competence in general gastroenterology and endoscopy is required, and sub specialist experience is welcomed. ERCP is desired but not essential. The position also entails provision of clinical training and supervision of medical staff, students and other staff as required, participation in the gastroenterology on-call roster, and participation in Departmental research and audit activities.
We are open to applications from newly qualified through to experienced physicians. Remuneration will be based on the equivalent cumulative experience of the applicant and matched to the appropriate step within the Medical and Dental Specialists Multi Employment Collective Agreement (MECA).
We are seeking Gastroenterologists in both permanent and fixed term roles.
