The Role: What These Opportunities Are All About

Community and Public Health provides public health services to people living throughout Canterbury, South Canterbury and the West Coast. As a Health Promoter working in the Christchurch office, you will seek to improve population health outcomes through the implementation of health promotion initiatives in Canterbury.

You will be working with the broader Canterbury DHB and NGO sector providing health promotion advice and support including evidence of best practice and appropriate evaluation methods.

Having health promotion/community development experience and a public health qualification are all desirable qualities. But critical to the role will be your ability to manage process, deliver on tight timeframes and demonstrate a high level of accuracy. Your attention to detail will be second to none and your initiative and outstanding interpersonal skills will make you a great team player.

This position will have a particular focus on housing therefore background and/or experience in a housing related field and a familiarity with related existing community and government services would be a bonus.

This is a permanent full time opportunity.

Skills & Experience

In addition to your evident relationship building skills and desire to continually improve the wellbeing, health and safety of our workforce you will meet the following criteria:
