Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist
The Canterbury District Health Board is the largest tertiary, teaching and research hospital in the South Island of New Zealand. The hospital operates 600-650 beds and provides services to over 35,000 inpatients each year.
Applications for the role of Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist are invited from Registered Medical Practitioners who hold an approved higher qualification in Medicine, enabling Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
This is a fixed term position with hours of work to be negotiated. There is the potential for this to be extended.
The Gastroenterology Department provides secondary and tertiary level inpatient, outpatient, consultation service and the successful applicant will be required to participate in the on call roster. Specific training and competence in endoscopy is essential.
You’ll experience supportive working relationships within the hospital as well as enjoy the unique collegial relationships that stem from providing a comprehensive service to locations throughout the South Island including Timaru, Ashburton and the West Coast.
