Mō te tūnga | About the role

Kaikoura Health Te Ha O Te Ora are looking for casual Registered Nurses to join their wonderful rural kapa team! These roles will suit experienced Registered Nurses who display a caring and flexible approach to patient care. You will enjoy working within a close-knit team of healthcare professionals, while also working autonomously as you support and manage patient’s health and wellbeing in both the long-term care and the medical acute areas.

As a Registered Nurse you will need to be able to work across all shifts including nights and weekends and be part of an on-call roster.  This role will cover a wide variety of nursing duties including acute and emergency care, palliative care, respite care, day procedures including infusions and providing support to the independent midwife in our birthing unit; along with providing care to our residents in the Rest Home.

This is an excellent opportunity to expose yourself to a variety of clinical conditions you may not otherwise see if you were in a large hospital setting.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako - Skills and Experience

  • NZ healthcare experience is essential
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC with no restrictions
  • Rural generalist nursing experience is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori, Te Ao Māori is desirable
