The Role: What This Opportunity’s All About

Do you have a vision for Older Persons Health and want the opportunity to make a real difference?

We are looking for  a senior Registered Nurse with vast gerontology knowledge and experience and a vision for the health care of our elderly to join our senior leadership team as the Nursing Director for Older People – Population Health. This role supports the Director of Nursing of Older Persons Health in providing strategic direction across the continuum working with older people throughout Canterbury and the West coast.

As well as developing effective relationships with primary and community providers across the continuum you will offer professional leadership, knowledge and positive role modelling for Nurses working within Older Persons Health.

This is a key professional and strategic leadership role with input into operational and staffing decisions and a critical role in the governance of nursing services. The successful candidate will be responsbile for leading a culture collaboration, stimulating nursing innovation and identifying and implementing opportunities for increasing quality of outcomes for patients and organisational performance.

  • Fulltime – Monday to Friday

Skills & Experience:

  • Senior Registered Nurse with a current APC and demonstrated leadership ability, alongside the ability to build strong, collaborative partnerships.
  • Proven expert gerentological knowledge, with the expertise to inform and influence strategic direction across Canterbury and West Coast Older Persons health.
  • Experience and success in project management and leading innovation and organisational change.
  • Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsand able to engage people at all levels.
  • Ability to share and demonstrate specialist knowledge and skills alongside a  strategic vision for older persons health
