Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, leads the day-to-day running of our health system across New Zealand, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. It weaves the functions of the 20 former District Health Boards into its regional divisions and district offices, ensuring continuity of services in the health system.

The Team

Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha is home to a busy radiology service based at Christchurch Hospital, the largest tertiary centre in the South Island. The service also encompasses several other sites including Christchurch Women’s and Burwood hospitals. Our new hospital houses state of the art equipment and offers a varied case mix including local and regional, general and subspecialty work. Our mix of general and subspecialty trained radiologists work closely together with a supportive team culture being a strength of our service.

If you have an academic interest, Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha is affiliated with the Otago Medical School affording the opportunity to contribute to undergraduate training. Te Whatu Ora is also part of the new health precinct Te Papa Hauora, a creative and inspiring network that integrates world-class healthcare, research and innovation, education and industry with a strong emphasis on population health based in Christchurch.

The Role

We welcome expressions of interest from general radiologists and those with subspecialty areas of interest. You will work alongside a motivated team of radiologists who support a progressive tertiary service in a beautiful location. We are a flexible employer with locum, fixed term or permanent, full and part-time options available. To apply you must be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
