Our Purpose: What We’re Here For
When you work with the Canterbury District Health Board, you’re part of something very special. We’re world leaders in the delivery of integrated health care, and we’re always striving to Make It Better. From the carers on the front line working directly with patients and communities, to our talented support teams who enable that care, we plan, fund and deliver health services to the almost 600,000 New Zealanders that live in the Canterbury region. And we’re all about putting people at the heart of everything we do.
Our Culture: What Matters To Us
Ko Te Whatu Manawa Tangata
Putting people at the heart of all we do
For us to continue to putting our communities at the centre of our health system, we’re putting our own people at the centre of everything we do. Because health is ultimately all about people. What’s important around here is the way we care for and respect others, the responsibility that all our people take for delivering outcomes, and that we go about our work with integrity in all we do.
What matters to us is doing the right thing, valuing everyone, and being and staying well ourselves so we can care for our community.
The Role: What This Opportunity’s All About
Expressions of interest are being sought from Radiologists seeking to work as part of a motivated team supporting a progressive tertiary service in a beautiful location where there is plenty of scope to ensure a great work life balance.
We are looking to fill a mixture of permanent, fixed term and locums contracts.
Canterbury District Health Board (DHB) is home to a busy radiology service based at Christchurch Hospital, the largest tertiary hospital in the South Island. The service also encompasses several other sites including Christchurch Women’s and Burwood hospitals. We have state of the art equipment, and a varied case mix including local and regional, general and subspecialty work. Our mix of general and subspecialty trained Radiologists work closely together with a supportive team culture being a strength of our service.
We are seeking expressions of interest from Radiologists including those with subspecialty experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, abdominal, musculoskeletal, oncology and emergency radiology.
If you have an academic interest, Canterbury DHB has the option of making joint radiologist appointments with the University of Otago's Christchurch campus. The university's radiology department has several research projects including MARS spectral CT and works closely with the NZ Brain Research Institute. The multidisciplinary research themes mean that clinical radiologists work with clinicians, engineers, and scientists.
