Mō te tūnga | About the role

This role plays a vital part in supporting the Womens Health, from an administrative perspective. This role requires you to achieve transcription objectives for the team and playing a key role in welcoming patients and whānau to the department. 

These roles could be based at Christchurch Hospital. 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaise with tūroro (patients), clinical and non-clinical staff
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Dictation of letters
  • Managing referral letters
  • Manage patient bookings and appointments
  • Coding and data entry
  • Cover reception, welcoming tūroro (patients) and whānau

Your skills will include:

  • Essential Typing skills (typing speed of 50 – 70 WPM)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
