About the Role
We are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists to join our Adult General and Inpatient Mental Health Services in Christchurch. These opportunities are available on both a full-time and part-time basis.
In this role, you will work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary service providing specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment, and ongoing care for adults experiencing acute and complex mental health presentations. Your work will include a balance of new admissions, inpatient care, and under-care follow-up, ensuring continuity of care across the service.
You will bring your clinical expertise to deliver high-quality acute and long-term treatment that meets individual needs, while also contributing to service innovation and continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to take a leadership role within established multidisciplinary teams and support the development of person-centred models of care.

About You
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be passionate about delivering excellent mental health care and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
You will also have:
- Vocational registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Experience in adult mental health, including inpatient, community, and psychiatric emergency services
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Interest in service development, quality improvement, and innovation
