About the role
We are looking for an experienced administrator to join the Allied Health Administration Team at Christchurch Hospital.
In this role you will be part of a team that provides front of house cover, scheduling of outpatient bookings and staff administrative support necessary to enable co-ordinated care for our patients and staff
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4A

- Personable, patient/customer focused approach to your work with the ability to relate to others in a courteous and compassionate manner
- Sound computer skills including knowledge of MS Office
- Superb organisation, time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent relationship building skills, coupled with the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
- Flexibility to assist other Allied Health Teams across Christchurch campus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience using a Patient Management System would be a distinct advantage, however full training will be provided by our supportive administrative team.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Allied Health is a term used to describe the broad range of health professionals who are not doctors, dentists or nurses. Allied Health includes Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Therapy, Nutrition & Dietetic Services, Social Work, Child Development Services and Hauora Maori Health.

Essential:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Technically savvy with quick learning ability.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail.
- Work independently and meet deadlines.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent keyboard knowledge with Dictaphone skills.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated perceptiveness and proactive approach to assisting Hauora Maori.
Desired:
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and biculturalism.
- Broad administrative experience in a health-related field.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with public hospital systems.
- Awareness of people of differing cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to develop office systems and introduce procedures.
- Prioritization skills and ability to work independently.
