Allied Health Co-ordinator - Safe Staffing
- 1.0 FTE Full Time Permanent position (40 hours per week), however a Part Time 0.5FTE may be considered

About the role
As the Allied Health Safe Staffing Co-ordinator you will be included within the Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury & Te Tai o Poutini West Coast Allied Health Scientific & Technical (AHS&T) Workforce Team and co-located with the wider Waitaha Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM) Team. Based at the Manawa building in the Te Papa Hauora Health Precinct. The Allied Health Scientific & Technical Workforce Team provides coordination, facilitation and leadership of workforce related projects across the two districts and enables strong transalpine connections and alignment that not only support our existing workforce but has a crucial role in ensuring an adequate workforce pipeline. This team supports an overall workforce of nearly 2500 people which collectively, is the second largest workforce after nursing/midwifery in our districts. This team also provides support for the CAHST office and is key to the development and delivery of the Allied Health Scientific & Technical strategic priorities and associated programmes of work such as safe staffing (CCDM) and development and implementation of AHS&T career frameworks.
This will be a permanent full-time role 1.0 FTE/40 hours per week, however part time 0.5FTE/ 20 hours per week will also be considered, please indicate your preference in your cover letter.
About You
You will be responsible in the continuation and growth of safe staffing methodology and processes for Allied Health across the different operational structures for Waitaha Canterbury & Te Tai o Poutini West Coast. Providing coordination of people and process to achieve continuation of the Allied Health Safe Staffing / CCDM programme. You will focus on sequencing activities to ensure programme delivery is effective and efficient.
You will work closely with the partners to coordinate the programme components and inter-dependencies. Working collaboratively with the Directors of Allied Health and the Nursing Director Care Capacity Demand to highlight potential risks and navigate arising issues. You will be required to ensure project communications are timely and meet the agreed workplan timelines, facilitating the scheduling, feedback and reporting.
It will be imperative that you have a focus and commitment towards Allied Health Scientific & Technical for Waitaha Canterbury & Te Tai o Poutini West Coast working in partnership with the Directors of Allied Health to develop the Allied Health Safe Staffing /CCDM team structures for each campus to support the overall Safe Staffing /CCDM Programme.

To be successful in this role you will;
- Have at least five years’ clinical experience within the relevant Allied Health professional role, ideally across a range of patient pathways
- Knowledge and experience of working with the components of the Allied Health Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM) programme
- Have clinical experience, proven leadership and project management skills
- Be flexible and comfortable working across team, divisional and district boundaries
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Familiarity with relevant Information Technology and confident with learning new systems and processes
- Have a Qualification in an allied health profession that is recognised by the respective New Zealand Regulatory Authority and professional body, a current practicing certificate and membership of the relevant professional body
