Allied Health Consultant – Service Improvement Planned Care
- Part Time Permanent - 0.6 FTE Senior Allied Health Leadership Position

About the role
Working with the Director of Allied Health Christchurch Campus – Waitaha
Canterbury, the Allied Health Consultant – Service Improvement Planned
Care, will
provide day to day strategic leadership, to deliver a sustainable, high-quality
service that contributes to the achievement of our organisational goals,
in-line with the Allied Health Strategic Plan.
They
will provide senior allied health leadership to facilitate the ongoing
development of best practice, promotion of inter-disciplinary models of care
and ways of working, alongside professional and practice development, to
optimise the performance of our Allied Health in surgical services.
They
will lead service improvement initiatives in Planned Care that relate to
overall improvement of planned care delivery across the system and will
actively seek opportunities to maximise access to healthcare services and
outcomes for our patients and their whanau.
About You
We
are looking for an experienced and effective Allied Health Leader to support
our Director of Allied Health, to drive productivity and planned care service
improvement initiatives, within Allied Health.
You
will have proven experience in the delivery of successful stakeholder
engagement and communication strategies and initiatives that promotes Allied
Health planned care improvement initiatives.
You
will have significant experience in project and/or programme management with
responsibility for developing and managing high quality, multiple stakeholder
projects and planned care service improvement initiatives.
Strategically,
you will understand the importance of being decisive in your decision-making
and will efficiently gather information to inform your decision. As a strategic
thinker you will be able to demonstrate that you can use your knowledge to put
new ideas into action.
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Registered Allied Health professional with a current annual practicing certificate
- Proven experience in a senior Allied Health Leadership position
- Minimum 5 years of clinical work experience in a relevant Allied Health specialty with in-depth knowledge of the health sector and issues affecting tāngata whaiora and equality of healthcare
- Knowledge of change management and quality improvement methodology supplemented by experience leading change, projects, as well as practice and quality improvement initiatives across the service
- Ability to think strategically to see the “big picture”, understand how different parts of the project / team work together and make decisions that move toward the long-term goal
- Experience in and knowledge of clinical quality and best practice and their application to the hospital & community sectors
- Experience making judgements in complex situations where there is incomplete information or solutions are not obvious
- Experience with clinical teaching/supervision, training and development of staff
- Knowledge in financial management and experience managing budgets appropriately
- Knowledge of NZ Health & Disability sector standards and the Privacy Act within a health context
