Anaesthetic Technician Clinical Coach

• Primarily based at Christchurch Health Campus 
• Hours of work are Monday - Friday 0800 -1630
• Permanent full time position 40 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Anaesthetic Technician Clinical Coach to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is designed to provide clinical coaching and support to new staff and trainees, alongside assisting with professional development and education within the Anaesthetic Technician team.

This role has two main areas of focus:

• Support of New Staff and Trainees:
  

- Work closely with AUT students, RNAA trainees, locum staff, internationally qualified staff, new graduate Anaesthetic Technicians, New Zealand-trained staff new to Waitaha, and staff building their clinical confidence and competence.

- Provide guidance, clinical education, feedback, and act as a preceptor or support role to ensure staff are integrated into our services effectively.

• Support for Professional Development Coordinator and Clinical Educator

- Assist with clinical education, professional development activities, and coverage for the Professional Development Coordinator and Clinical Educator during planned and unplanned leave.

- Collaborate with the wider team to support anaesthetic technicians and trainees in their ongoing development.

About you

We are seeking an experienced Anaesthetic Technician or RNAA with a passion for clinical education and coaching. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide tailored guidance, with a commitment to supporting the professional development of new and existing staff, ensuring they are confident, competent and well integrated into our team. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to staff at various stages of their career
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Passion for education, mentoring, and staff development
• Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills
  
• Registration and current APC with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
• Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
• Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth 
• Work collaboratively, as a team player ensuring continuity of education during planned and unplanned leave
• Encourage a supportive and engaging learning environment
• Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
• Previous experience in clinical education or supervision is advantageous 
• Post graduate qualification in clinical education or adult learning is advantageous
