Anaesthetic Technician Team Leader

We’re looking for an Anaesthetic Technician Team Leader to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. This is a varied and challenging role which includes rostering, quality assurance, education (post and pre-qualification), development of the service as well as providing professional, skilled clinical and technical assistance. This opportunity will see you rotating across our Christchurch campuses – Christchurch Public, Women’s, Burwood and our new Waipapa Hospital. There is also the option to join the on-call team.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Working closely with the Charge Anaesthetic Technician for the day-to-day coordination of the Anaesthetic Technician service
- Ensuring services run smoothly and safely while role-modelling best practice
- Mentoring our junior staff and providing education to the team
- The provision of clinical and technical assistance to the anaesthetist
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong clinical expertise, leadership capability, and a collaborative approach. You will be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of providing assistance to the Anaesthetist
- 3+ years’ of clinical experience is highly desirable
- Sound knowledge of a range of anaesthetic equipment
- Previous management or supervisory experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori OR a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Registration as an Anaesthetic Technician with the Medical Sciences Council of NZ with current APC (or eligibility to obtain) is essential
