The Acute services Team have an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to take this next step in their career. You will support the Charge Nurse Manager (CNM) with managing a large team of permanent and casual Registered & Enrolled Nurses and a team of health care Assistants.

This is a unique role within healthcare in NZ where you will be able to extend your practice not only in an acute hospital setting as well as working within inpatient care as, but you will also have the flexibility to expand further. With the new model of care that is being introduced here in Buller we are changing the way that health care is being delivered to our community and you will be involved in seeing this completion.

You will assist with important processes in this service by supporting the CNM with recruitment, orientation, coordinating education, performance reviews, service development and staff retention.

  • Working seamlessly within an Interdisciplinary Team of Health Professionals
  • Lead, develop & up skill other members in your team

We’re looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in acute and urgent care nursing and who has an interest in developing their leadership and management skills.  Strategic thinking, problem solving, excellent interpersonal skills are imperative as you will interact with a wide range of people both within the team and the Department of Nursing; and across the facility.

  • Initiative, solution focused with excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks.

  • You will either hold or be working towards a relevant post graduate qualification
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC with proven clinical expertise within acute nursing
