About the Role
We are looking for a senior nurse to join the team as a Associate Clinical Nurse Manager.
You
will be responsible for co-ordinating the cohesive functioning of the team(s)
staff to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care for consumers. And be
responsible for the management of resources and the unit environment.
The
role also involves functional relationship with Practice Co-Ordinator.
About the Service
Christchurch
Sexual Health Centre provides confidential and specialised management of
sexually transmitted infections, HIV and sexual health related issues. It is a
secondary specialist Health New Zealand Canterbury teaching facility.
The
Centre is based on the World Health Organisation definition of Sexual Health
which focuses on health, rather than the absence of disease. Equity and
accessibility are paramount; thus, it includes health promotional activities,
teaching and support to Primary Care and other sexual and reproductive health
services.
Services
include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education and contact tracing. Our
practice aims to be culturally sensitive and based on the principle of
continuous improvement in concordance with the Treaty of Waitangi and the
Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion. It is a sentinel STI surveillance centre
for the South Island.
About you
We
are looking for a dynamic individual who will provide effective leadership on
the floor in the department, supporting our staff and working closely with our
senior nursing team. You will have a passion for Sexual Health and
commitment to quality improvements, ensuring optimum care is provided to our
patients. This role also contains a clinical component providing nurse
led clinics.
To be successful in this role we are looking for the following;
- Have advanced leadership experience with strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience in sexual health or other relevant specialty
- Ability to manage complex situations, with an innovative and solution focused approach
- Currently hold or be working towards a relevant Post Graduate qualification
- Be approachable and have a commitment to Health New Zealand Canterbury’s visions, values and direction
- Have the vision and ability to accommodate change and the management of change
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
