The Role: What This Opportunity’s All About
Are you an experienced Hospitality Supervisor ready for a new and exciting challenge? We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable café supervisor to lead the way!
Christchurch Hospital is the home of a variety of cafés; one of them being the Great Escape Café which is located on the top floor of the main public hospital and is the largest café in the hospital. This café is the central hub for both clinical and administrative staff to come and purchase meals, drinks and coffees during their working hours, as well as catering to the important guests and patients visiting the hospital.
As cafe supervisor you will lead by example, inspiring and motivating the café team to deliver high quality café service. You will be responsible for managing and controlling site costs, maintaining operational standards including the food control plan, health and safety and support staff to understand and comply with policy and procedures. Experience leading a busy and vibrant team and a flexible and an approachable leadership style will see you quickly succeed in this role.
The must haves for the role:
- Proven operational experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated ability understand and manage budgets and food costs and stock management
- Proven experience effectively manage a team of people
- Exceptional communication skills and great customer service skills essential

This is a permanent, part-time position working 32 hours per week Wednesday – Saturday, 11:30am – 8pm. There is the possibility of extra hours on a Sunday for the right person.
