Christchurch Hospital is advertising internationally for a highly skilled Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join our dynamic cardiology team. About the Role

As a Cardiac Electrophysiologist, you will:

• Perform a full range of electrophysiology procedures, including mapping and ablation
• Insert a full range of cardiac pacing and defibrillation devices
• Participate in the acute management of cardiovascular emergencies and complex cases
• Contribute to multidisciplinary patient care, working closely with pacing and electrophysiology technologists and specialist nurses
• Provide clinical leadership and training to junior doctors and allied health professionals
• Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in the on-call roster as part of a team providing 24/7 EP care to the South Island and beyond
• Contribute to the general cardiology service, including outpatient clinics, inpatient care, acute care roster and outreach clinics

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a specialist cardiologist
• Advanced training in cardiac electrophysiology
• A strong commitment to patient-centred care, clinical excellence, and teamwork
• A passion for innovation, research, and teaching
