Are you looking to contribute to the community in a meaningful way?

Join our dedicated and hard-working Environmental Services Department and help maintain our facilities, while providing a suitable environment for our tūroro (patients) and whānau (families).

You will be part of a small fast paced team that plays an essential part of maintaining Christchurch Health Campus. The team provides exceptional cleaning services 365 days a year, across both day and night shifts.

You will be responsible for:

  • Completing all cleaning tasks to international healthcare standards
  • Ensuring daily schedules and tasks are completed within set timeframes
  • Operating and maintaining equipment safely around patients and whānau
  • Handling cleaning solutions in accordance with safety protocols

Shifts available:

  • 40 hours per week - Thursday to Monday 6.30am - 3pm
  • 40 hours per week - Wednesday to Sunday 6.30am - 3pm
  • 32 hours per week - Saturday to Tuesday 6.30am - 3pm
  • 24 hours per week - Thursday to Saturday 6.30am - 3pm
  • 24 hours per week - Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday 6.30am - 3pm

Based at Christchurch Health Campus. Salary starting rate $23.75 per hour. Based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement.

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who is able to bring their passion for cleaning to our facilities. This role will suit a candidate that is looking to help make the hospital a hygienic and safe space for our tūroro (patients) and whānau (families).

Full training will be provided to all new staff joining our team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills
  • High level of patient confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience as a cleaner, particularly within health, is preferred but not essential.
