Clinical Administrator | Christchurch Hospital

- Hours are worked across Monday to Friday, with negotiable start times.

About the role
Christchurch Outpatients Booking Administration team schedule and manage clinics for six services. Every day in Christchurch Outpatients is different with administration staff assisting the SMO and Nursing team to manage/book outpatient clinics that will be held in this facility.
We’re looking for an amazing person whose personality is welcoming and friendly. If you can prioritise multiple work tasks, enjoy working in a high functioning team, and have a passion for arranging administration tasks for our patients we would like to hear from you. Our ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, and once you understand the tasks and systems can be self-directed making the role your own.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 5/Profile 5b Step 1 to 3 (final placement step is dependent on skills, knowledge and experience)

In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing great service and direction to customers, staff and whānau
- Professional timely service
- All aspects of administration
- Co-ordinate and manage patient booking
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Answering department telephone
- Support Front of House staff when required
About you
Skills and experience
This role requires the following:
Essential:
- Excellent customer service skills – people focused
- Technically savvy – quick at picking up new applications/systems
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- A team player
- Intermediate to advanced user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Excellent keyboard skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated perceptiveness and a proactive approach in an administrator role.
Desired:
- Broad administrative experience in a health-related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with the public hospital system (including the patient management system)
- Awareness of people of differing cultural backgrounds.
