About the role
The North Adult Community Team, Specialist Mental Health (SMHS) is looking for a skilled and motivated Clinical Administrator to join their small but effective team. This role is to form part of the administration pool for North Adult Community Team (SMHS). This role is at the Ferguson Building, Hillmorton Heath Campus;
In this role, you will provide support to the North Adult Community Team, which involves Reception, secretarial and general administration support. You will be working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team and therefore you will be required to work with various clinical and non-clinical staff at a variety of levels.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating administration tasks alongside the team
- Covering reception
- Answering phone calls
- Winscribe typing
- Taking meeting minutes
- Managing referrals
- Maintaining patient information system
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders and whānau
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4

About you
Skills and experience
This role requires someone who can manage difficult situations, with composure and professionalism. As you will be the first point of contact for our consumers, you will be required to have excellent communication and people skills. Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to hit the ground running and pick up systems and processes with ease.
Skills required in this role:
- Mental Health experience is desirable
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Typing skills (50 – 70 WPM)
- Accuracy and high attention to detail
- Microsoft Knowledge (Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Time management and prioritisation skills
- Flexibility and adaptability skills
