Clinical Manager – Manawa Simulation Centre

About the Role
This leadership role provides strategic, operational, and professional leadership for simulation-based education and clinical skills training across Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora Waitaha and Te Tai o Poutini. The role works closely with Ara – Institute of Canterbury and a wide range of clinical and education partners to deliver high-quality, equitable, and innovative simulation services.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Operational and workforce leadership of the Manawa Simulation Centre
- Leadership of simulation-based education, innovation, and quality improvement
- Oversight of simulation facilities, equipment, and bookings
- Strong partnership and governance involvement with Ara and Te Papa Hauora partners
- Leadership and coordination of clinical debriefing education
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and interprofessional practice

About You
You will bring experience in:
- Operational management and leadership
- Simulation, education and training
- Innovation, project management and programme development
- Resource, Financial and Asset Management
- Planning, Budgeting and Governance
You will have:
- Current professional registration within Health including a valid practising certificate
- Minimum 7 years post-registration clinical experience
- Master’s-level postgraduate qualification in Health Science (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity principles
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain calm and adaptable
- Commitment to interprofessional education and collaborative practice
