Clinical Manager – Manawa Simulation Centre

About the Role

This leadership role provides strategic, operational, and professional leadership for simulation-based education and clinical skills training across Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora Waitaha and Te Tai o Poutini. The role works closely with Ara – Institute of Canterbury and a wide range of clinical and education partners to deliver high-quality, equitable, and innovative simulation services.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Operational and workforce leadership of the Manawa Simulation Centre
  • Leadership of simulation-based education, innovation, and quality improvement
  • Oversight of simulation facilities, equipment, and bookings
  • Strong partnership and governance involvement with Ara and Te Papa Hauora partners
  • Leadership and coordination of clinical debriefing education
  • Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and interprofessional practice

About You

You will bring experience in:

  • Operational management and leadership
  • Simulation, education and training
  • Innovation, project management and programme development
  • Resource, Financial and Asset Management
  • Planning, Budgeting and Governance

You will have:

  • Current professional registration within Health including a valid practising certificate
  • Minimum 7 years post-registration clinical experience
  • Master’s-level postgraduate qualification in Health Science (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity principles
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and remain calm and adaptable
  • Commitment to interprofessional education and collaborative practice
