This is an opportunity for an experienced leader to lead the Nutrition & Dietetics Service at Christchurch Campus and make a meaningful impact for patients, whānau and our clinical workforce.

As Clinical Manager Nutrition & Dietetics - Christchurch Campus you will provide professional leadership, and operational management to the Nutrition & Dietetics Service at Te Whatu Ora – Waitaha Canterbury. You will create an environment where people can thrive, supporting professional development, championing cultural competency, fostering excellence in clinical practice and ensuring high standards of clinical safety and professional conduct.

Working in partnership with the Director of Allied Health, clinical managers and the Nutrition & Dietetics team, as the Clinical Manager Nutrition & Dietetics - Christchurch Campus this is an opportunity to influence the direction and development of the service. You will provide leadership to support the delivery and ongoing development of a high-quality, cost-effective clinical service. Working alongside clinical teams and key partners, you will balance quality, service and financial priorities while identifying opportunities to improve care and outcomes for patients and their whānau.

You will be an experienced and effective leader who brings a proven ability to lead and develop teams, set clear direction, navigate complex situations and successfully lead change and improvement. This is an opportunity to utilise your clinical leadership skills to successfully drive productivity and continuous improvement of our Nutrition & Dietetics Service by identifying opportunities for change to clinical pathways and models of care.

Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the relevant profession. 
• NZ Registration with the relevant professional body.
• A current Annual Practicing Certificate with the relevant professional body.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical work experience in the relevant field of specialty and environment, and in-depth knowledge of the NZ Health and Disability sector and issues affecting tāngata whaiora and equality of healthcare.
• Minimum 3 years senior leadership experience at a management level.
• Knowledge of change management and Quality Improvement methodology supplemented by experience leading change, projects, as well as practice and quality improvement initiatives across the service.
• Knowledge in financial management and experience in effective budget management.
• Experience with clinical teaching/supervision, training and staff development.
• Experience making judgements in complex situations and being a proactive problem solver.
• Post-graduate diploma (leadership or clinical), or certificate with evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to complete post graduate diploma within the role.
• Knowledge of NZ Health & Disability sector standards and the Privacy Act within a health context.
