About the Role
This is an exciting role working not only in Children’s Emergency Centre (CEC) but also across the inpatient wards within the wider Paediatric Service. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be a resource person for the patients with complex medical needs who present to CEC. The role will also extend to the other wards to follow the patient journey and provide expert clinical knowledge and resources to support the nurses caring for the patient. Service development will also be a core component for this role, to keep pace with the population needs.
About the Service
Children’s Emergency Care is a very busy and fast paced centre seeing all tamariki aged 0-16yrs. We also have a population of tamariki who have very complex medical and/or surgical conditions, who need additional resources, ongoing education for whanau, collaboration with other services within Christchurch Hospital and with Starship, Primary Care and community services.
About You
- You must have a minimum of three years working at least 0.8FTE in a paediatric service.
- You must have obtained or be working towards a post grad qualification.
- You must have excellent communication skills and have evidence of collaboration across services.
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC.
