We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (Gerontology) to join our Community Older Persons Health & Rehabilitation team on a fixed-term secondment through to August 2027. This advanced nursing role provides specialist clinical expertise, leadership, education, and support for older adults with complex health needs living in the community.
About the role
You will:
- Provide advanced gerontology nursing assessment and specialist clinical advice.
- Support complex case management and care coordination for older people.
- Work collaboratively with clients, whānau, primary care, aged residential care, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and education to nursing and allied health colleagues.
- Promote evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and service development.
- Contribute to initiatives that support the health, wellbeing, and independence of older adults.
About you
You will have:
- Current Nursing Council of New Zealand registration and APC.
- Extensive experience working with older adults in community, primary, aged residential care, or secondary care settings.
- Advanced gerontology nursing knowledge and assessment skills.
- A relevant postgraduate nursing qualification (or be working towards one).
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- A full New Zealand
driver's licence.
