Clinical Nurse Specialist - Vascular Surgery

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with advanced clinical practice and a strong interest in Vascular nursing to work in a senior nursing role. As the clinical nursing lead in the vascular service, you will support, mentor and act as a resource person for patients and whanau; the nursing team and other health professionals.
A8 is a combined vascular surgery and acute stroke ward with 28 ward level beds and 4 Progressive Care Unit (PCU) beds. The successful candidate will have clinical expertise in Vascular nursing and the ability to transfer this knowledge to the nursing team. They will be crucial to continuing to support and develop nurses working in A8 and the embedding of safe evidence-based practice.
This role is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) across Monday – Friday business hours however we are also open to considering hours from 0.8 FTE - 1.0FTE (32 hours - 40 hours per week) for the right candidate.
About you
A positive role model in clinical leadership you will work collaboratively with the whole team across A8 and the Vascular service to ensure high standards of care are maintained and quality patient outcomes are achieved.
- Provide valuable support, education and clinical expertise to help develop the A8 nursing team.
- Promote nursing research, education and evidence-based practice.
- Your broad knowledge and extensive recent experience will place you perfectly as a specialist resource for the team.
- Motivated, organised, exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a wide range of people, is paramount in this role.
- You’ll be an expert nurse and either hold, or be working towards, a relevant post graduate qualification and equivalent PDRP.
