Clinical Physiologist – Cardiac
- 1.0FTE (40 hours per week) Permanent position
- Based at Christchurch Hospital Campus
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

About the Role
As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will be part of a high-performing multidisciplinary team in a tertiary hospital and the South Island’s electrophysiology and ICD centre.
In this varied and hands-on role, you will play a key part in diagnosing, treating and managing patients with cardiovascular conditions. Your work will include; performing and interpreting specialised cardiac investigations, supporting electrophysiology studies, assisting with interventional procedures and managing cardiac devices.
You will be involved across a broad scope of practice including electrophysiology, invasive cardiology procedures, device implantation and follow-up clinics and Holter monitoring analysis. There is also opportunity to contribute to training and mentoring junior staff, while participating in an on-call service.
About You
We are seeking a qualified Cardiac Physiologist who is confident working across the scope of practice and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in cardiac physiology, including independence in the catheter laboratory
- Experience (or strong capability) in electrophysiology, device management, and cardiac investigations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret clinical data accurately
- Excellent time management and attention to technical detail
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A patient-centred approach, with a commitment to cultural safety and equitable health outcomes
Essential:
- Current Practising Certificate
- Membership of SCT
- BSc Physiology (or equivalent)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Cardiac Technology
(or equivalent)
