 About the Role

The Sleep Health Services mission is to improve the Sleep Health of the people living in Canterbury. We do this by providing high quality services for the investigation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with sleep disordered breathing and other sleep disturbances. We also provide education to other health practitioners and service users about the importance of sleep, and advocate for making good sleep a health priority.

Our team consists of doctors, nurses, physiologists and administration professionals working in an integrated system between tertiary and primary care. We have a very strong multi-disciplinary approach to our workstreams.

This opportunity is 32 hours a week with the potential of some evening/overnight work and occasional regional work.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Set-up and analysis of complex sleep studies performed to international standards.
  • Initiation and maintenance of nocturnal ventilatory support (CPAP/APAP/BiPAP/ASV) for patients with sleep disordered breathing.

About You

Your skills will include:

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in an appropriate field of health science e.g. Physiology.
  • Registration with CPRB with sleep scope. Followed by NZSCE with the goal of full scope in Sleep.
  • Availability to work overnight on an ongoing basis as per roster.
  • Be able to travel to support regional services.

Desirable:

  • Post Graduate degree in Physiology or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a sleep service and/or a clinical environment.
