This is an opportunity for you to take up one of five new clinical team leader positions in our community dental team these are full time permanent positions.
The Canterbury DHB’s Community Dental Service provides dental services to nearly 90,000 children aged 0-13 in Canterbury and South Canterbury and supports our colleagues on the West Coast. There are 110 front-line clinical staff who work with modern equipment in 22 mobile dental units and 13 dental clinics. The Service is growing its clinical leadership team and is recruiting a Clinical Manager and five Clinical Team Leaders who will lead and support improvements to clinical services and the professional development of their colleagues. These new leaders will need to be able to inspire their colleagues and work with them to implement best-practice solutions to the oral health challenges facing our community.
You will be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of your designated services in partnership with the Clinical Manager and Service Manager.
This will include:
- management of a clinical caseload
- clinical leadership of a dental team
- professional development of the existing team in conjunction with the professional development offered by the CDHB
- recruiting new team members to meet current and future service demands
- participating in quality improvement projects

You will have strong desire to join, grow and lead a team that have the ability and desire to deliver an excellent service to the local community. Dedication to continued learning and striving for the best patient outcomes alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills as well tried and tested team leadership skills will ensure the continued success of this Community Dental Team.
Additionally you will have a current annual practicing certificate and be registered with the Dental Council of New Zealand as a dental or oral health therapist.
