The Team
The Department of General Surgery at Christchurch Hospital are proud of the services we deliver to the people of Canterbury and surrounding DHBs. We are a dynamic and innovative team of 26 SMOs, 22 Registrars and 12 House Officers, with a large administrative and nursing team.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Department of General Surgery is offering a 12 month Fellowship in General Surgery with a speciality focus in Colorectal Surgery starting in October 2025. This Fellowship position is for a one year fixed term role that is aimed to increase your clinical experience in a large tertiary hospital. Our fellows get broad exposure to a wide range of colorectal procedures both major and day case/24 hr proctology. We have a long history in exenteration and complex multi team pelvic surgery. The successful applicant will be required to participate in acute service on a rotational and on-call basis.
The variety of training and opportunities you will have at our leading hospital are world-class and will make an excellent stepping stone to those about to begin consultant practice.
