About the Role
As the Colorectal Surgery Fellow, you will be part of the Department of General Surgery at Christchurch Hospital, working alongside an experienced team of consultants and registrars in a dynamic, tertiary care setting.
This 12-month Fellowship offers broad exposure to a range of colorectal procedures including major resections, minimally invasive surgery, day case and 24-hour proctology, and complex pelvic surgery involving multi-team collaboration.
You will also participate in the acute general surgery roster on a rotational and on-call basis. This Fellowship is designed to further develop your clinical and operative skills while preparing you for consultant practice.
About the Team
The Department of General Surgery at Christchurch Hospital comprises 26 Specialist Surgeons, 22 Registrars, and 12 House Officers, supported by a dedicated nursing and administrative team. The department provides comprehensive surgical care for Canterbury and surrounding regions and is recognised for its commitment to teaching, research, and innovation.
