About the Role

Single Point of Entry (SPOE) is a person’s initial contact with the mental health services. We streamline the way people are referred for the Adult Community Mental Health Services they require. We are a tight knit, multidisciplinary team made up of registered Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. 

About You

This role is centred around being the key point of contact for people needing advice and wanting to access mental health services, as well as taking referrals and queries from GP's. Drawing on your experience of working in mental health you will be able to assess the risk and quickly get a good clear understanding of your caller’s needs. You will play a key role in triage and client liaison, ensuring all consumers get the right help, at the right time, in the right place.

  • Working hours are within Monday - Friday 8am to 4.30pm
  • 0.6FTE part time opportunity available 

Skills and experience

This role requires the following:

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
  • Qualified Occupational Therapists and Social Workers will also be considered.
  • Mental Health scope and experience
  • A full New Zealand drivers’ licence 
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Confident and resilient
  • Possess a good knowledge of the local community
  • Impeccable risk assessment capabilities
