Community Support Worker | Hillmorton

About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to enhance and support the wellbeing of children, adolescents and families who are under the care of the specialised mental health services outpatient community teams. Work will be undertaken within the community in consultation with the clinical team to support the goals within their individual treatment plans.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Christchurch office is based on the Hillmorton site.
We have 2 part time (20 hours per week) positions for Community Support Workers across Ashburton and Rangiora, who has a clear passion for young people and their families. Experience in a mental health setting is highly desirable.
The clinicians on the Team have a range of skills and areas
of clinical expertise. Come and join a supportive team that is committed and
works hard for young people living in the North and/or South Canterbury. Travel
is required for Outreach clinics.

About you
Do you like the challenge of working with children and adolescents and their family / whanau? Are you reliable, self-motivated and want to contribute to effective service delivery?
Our Community Rural and Outreach Teams (Child, Adolescent
& Family Mental Health Service) are specialist mental health service that
provides assessment and treatment of young people up to 18 years of age who
present with moderate to severe mental health problems, and their families.
As part of this specialist service and multidisciplinary team, you will provide
community support to our young people. You will develop and regularly review a job plan and caseload with the
Clinical Manager. The ability to effectively communicate and work
collaboratively with young people, family/whanau, community, and statutory
organisations is essential.
Bring your enthusiasm and motivation to work with us and we’ll provide you with
a great opportunity to enhance your skills in a specialty area. Managing your
own caseload, you’ll need great organisation and excellent time management to keep
up with this exciting client group.
You will be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels within the public and private sectors, related industry and community interest groups and the wider national and international communities.
