About the role
This Coordinator position is the glue that holds the team together and will involve supporting and enabling the Director of Allied Health Workforce as well as the wider workforce team. You will contribute to the development and implementation of key programmes to ensure a transformation journey. This is a permanent, part time role, 16 hours a week, which is based at the Manawa in central Christchurch.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4.

Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Provide administration support to the Director of Allied Health Workforce
- Provide support and coordination for workforce projects
- Contribute to milestones to ensure the team achieves its business objectives
- Problem solve situations, alongside the Directors
- Manage internal and external stakeholders
- Facilitate develop and operation use of various internal and external platforms
- Maintain effective communication with the team
- Report writing and contract management, for pre-registration and health workforce priorities and projects
- Process improvement and continuous development of processes and systems
- Event management and manage meetings, such as conferences and inductions
- Contribute to strengthening Waitaha Canterbury and Te Tai o Poutini West Coast
- focus on improving equity, diversity and inclusion and promote better outcomes for Māori, Pasifika and other target population groups
About You
This role would suit someone who enjoys work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the business. The environment is fast paced and challenging, therefore you should be resilient and adaptable. As you will be supporting Directors and a relatively small team, you should be reliable, organised, discreet and have the ability to take initiative. This role requires someone who has good coordination and multi-tasking skills.
Skills and experience
Your skills will include:
- Knowledge or experience of tikanga Māori, translating the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi into practice
- Experience in an administration or coordination role
- A background working in a large, complex and diverse environment would be advantageous
- Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, TEAMs and Sharepoint).
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Organisational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines
- A customer service approach to your work and contribute positively to the team
- A background in the Health Industry would be advantageous
