About the Role
Waitaha Canterbury Radiology Service prides ourselves in keeping up with technology while maintaining our patient focused care and management skills.
Our CT service covers Ashburton, Burwood and Christchurch Health Campus and may include travel between those sites. Hours of work are mainly Monday to Friday 0800 -1630 to meet service cover.
We are currently looking for a MIT Team Leader for CT to provide leadership to our team working across 3 sites.
The CT Team Leader is responsible for managing the CT team to deliver an effective and efficient medical imaging service that supports and maintains patient flow and meets the ongoing changing needs of our Radiology Service across multiple locations.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- An efficient and effective CT imaging service
- Managing the CT MIT team to deliver a service that is integrated with the wider Radiology and Hospital Services
- Patient centric leader, with a best for patient, best for system approach
- Managing daily, weekly workload across multiple locations and sites, meeting the production plan requirements
- Meeting patient needs within agreed triaged referral timeframes
- Ensuring standardised, quality and consistent imaging and patient care is provided at all times across all locations
About You
You are a New Zealand-registered Medical Imaging Technologist with at least five years’ experience, including CT and leadership responsibilities, who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. With a strong clinical foundation and proven leadership skills, you’re committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while efficiently managing imaging services across Christchurch, Burwood and Ashburton. You bring a collaborative and solutions-focused approach to service planning, daily operations, and team development, ensuring consistent standards, patient safety, and ongoing quality improvement. You’re confident navigating operational challenges, supporting staff development, and fostering a positive, inclusive team culture. Aligned with the values of our organisation you lead by example, striving for the best outcomes for patients staff, and the wider health system.
Essential
A New Zealand registered MIT with a minimum of five years’ post qualification experience, including CT and leadership experience. You will be an excellent communicator and have an ongoing commitment to continuous quality improvement in the delivery of the CT service within the context of the wider radiology service and Waitaha, Canterbury. You will be competent with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or show a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
