Dietitian - Outpatient Paediatrics
- Fixed Term part time position 0.5 FTE (20 hours/week) through to July 2026
- Hours of work are Monday - Friday, between 8am - 4:30pm, days to be negotiated
- Based at Christchurch Health Campus

About the Role
Our team of dynamic and motivated Dietitians based primarily at Christchurch Campus provides support to paediatric patients across a range of clinical specialties including oncology, critical care, respiratory, surgical, metabolics, diabetes, gastroenterology.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an NZ Registered Dietitian with current Annual Practicing Certificate to join our team! We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive team player with a good clinical experience. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will receive regular supervision and opportunities for professional development and you will also be encouraged to develop your skills and professional interests.
This is a part-time (0.5FTE/20hr per week) fixed term opportunity. The hours of the week will need to meet service delivery requirements with rostered on-call weekend cover. Extra hours may be on offer at times to meet service needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing nutritional assessment and nutritional care plans to our paediatric outpatient service
- Providing nutritional education to patients within the service, enthusing and motivating real behaviour change
- Working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with health providers
About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic dietitian who has experience in a paediatric outpatient setting to join the team. Your skills will include:
- A drive to ensure best health outcomes for children with nutrition related disorders
- The ability to work within a team and contribute to the provision of quality care within the service
- Being self-motivated, organised and enjoy a challenge
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and nurture relationships with patients and other people within the service
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Demonstrated post-qualification experience, ideally with 3+ years of experience within a hospital setting
- New Zealand Registered Dietitian with a current NZ Practising Certificate is essential
- Experience with infant feeding disorders is desirable
