About the role

Perinatal Mental Health Service (5.2 beds) provides specialist treatment for women who present with complex moderate to severe maternal mental illness who require admission. This is an exciting opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse to work in a specialist inpatient setting to provide care, assessment and management of infants who are admitted with their mothers to promote ongoing attachment and bonding.
The role involves hands-on infant care, emotional support and education for parents, supporting caregivers with parentcraft skills, and working with Registered Nurses to implement feed/sleep routines where required. Nurturing the mother-infant relationship and promoting infant mental health through play and connection are also integral to this role.
This Specialty Service offers a fulfilling and dynamic environment and opportunities to further your nursing career. Comprehensive treatment, multi-disciplinary functions across the inpatient and outpatient teams, and liaison with multiple agencies, are integral to service provision.
