The Team

General Medicine at Christchurch Hospital is a busy and dynamic acute service, dealing with over 16000 admissions per year.  All patients are assessed in our 36 bed acute medical assessment unit (AMAU), before being transferred to one of three dedicated General Medical wards.

Here in Canterbury we are looking at the largest hospital build in the history of New Zealand's public health service and you will be a part of it as we develop new models of general medical care, ready for our new 40 bed AMAU which will be commissioned in 2020.

The Role

We are seeking a General Physician to join our Department at Christchurch Hospital in early 2020 on a full-time (0.9FTE), fixed term parental leave role.

In this role you will lead one of sixteen general medical teams working a one in four acute rosters.

We are open to applications from Registered Medical Practitioners who have advanced training in General Medicine and are eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
