What you’ll do here
On the West Coast, we are leading the way when it comes to innovations in rural health delivery in New Zealand. With our new hospital, Te Nikau and a new health centre underway in Buller, we are seeking GPs who are interested in joining us through our transformation.
Whether you are looking for a fixed term or a permanent position, we can offer flexible working arrangements that fit in with your lifestyle. We cover 800km of the West Coast from Karamea in the North, to Jackson Bay in the South, and we have opportunities spanning this area. You will receive an attractive relocation package to assist with your move, as well as support with Immigration and Medical Council applications.
This is a true consultant general practitioner role where you will have a focus on our future workforce, as well as an element of supervision and training of medical and nursing workforces. You will still see patients but here on the coast the focus will be on those who follow your lead!
Being on the West Coast of the South Island, you’ll rediscover a love of medicine. You will get the chance to get to know your patients and the multi skilled teams you work with, and at the end of the day, you’ll have the time and the energy to get out and enjoy the world around you.
In order to be successful, you will need to be eligible to gain registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. If you are interested in learning more about this process, further information is available here https://www.mcnz.org.nz/registration/
