Make a Difference in the Lives of Older People
We are seeking a dedicated Geriatrician to join our highly regarded Older Persons Health inpatient team at Burwood Hospital. This is an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused service within Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora Canterbury.
About the Role
- Provide specialist care for older inpatients at Burwood Hospital. This is a sub-acute care and rehabilitation setting.
- Provision of general Geriatrics outpatient clinic
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to support older persons rehabilitation and complex geriatric care.
- Collaborate closely with acute services at Christchurch Hospital and community teams.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and teaching opportunities.
About the Team/Service/Location
OPH
provides care to approximately 87,000 older people across Canterbury.
Christchurch inpatient services are based at Burwood Hospital (opened 2016),
with community services at Princess Margaret Hospital and several satellite
sites.

About you
You will bring:
- Vocationally registered (or eligible for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) as a Geriatrician / Physician (find out more here).
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
