Geriatrician

We are seeking a dedicated Geriatrician to join our Older Persons Health inpatient team at Burwood Hospital. This is an opportunity to contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused service within Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora Canterbury.
About the Role
- Provide specialist care for older inpatients at Burwood Hospital. This is a sub-acute care and rehabilitation setting.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to support older persons rehabilitation and complex geriatric care.
- Collaborate closely with acute services at Christchurch Hospital and community teams.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and teaching opportunities.
- A subspecialty interest in peri-operative medicine would be an advantage, as the service continues to strengthen collaborative models of care for older patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Vocationally registered (or eligible for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Geriatrician / Physician.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
- A collaborative and adaptable team player.
- A subspecialty interest in peri-operative medicine would be advantageous
