Healthcare Assistant - Acute Orthopaedics
- Ward A4, Waipapa Building, Christchurch Health Campus
- 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) Permanent position
- Flexibility required across all shifts, Monday through Sunday

About the Role
Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and assisting Nursing staff with delegated tasks.
As a Healthcare Assistant you be responsible for:
- Assisting nursing staff with patient cares.
- Patient observation.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment on the ward.
- Working a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday.
About the Service
Ward A4 is an Acute Orthopaedic ward with an eye for excellence in patient care. It is one of two acute orthopaedic wards based at Waipapa Hospital it has 32 beds and includes a dedicated 8 bed Trauma Unit.
About You
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in an inclusive team environment.
- Availability to work rotating roster shifts.
- A high attention to detail and the ability to relate to patients and their families.
- A good use of initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar
