Healthcare Assistant – Cardiology Service
- 0.6FTE - 1.0FTE (24 - 40 hours per week) permanent position
- Ward 12 and Coronary Care Unit, Christchurch Hospital
- Shifts – Monday to Sunday shift work, ideally with a preference for afternoon and night shift

About the Role
Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting the clinical team. As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist nursing staff with patient cares whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment on the ward.
About the Service
Our Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a 9 bedded specialised unit where our patients present with a number of life-threatening cardiac events that require close observation, continuous cardiac monitoring and often urgent interventions. Ward 12 has 28 beds for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions.
About You
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant with a passion and commitment to the delivery of high standard of care for the patients. Enthusiastic and motivated, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast paced, forward thinking, supportive environment.
Skills and Experience:
- Healthcare experience is highly advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Initiative and a proactive approach to work
- Strong computer skills and administration experience is an advantage
