Healthcare Assistant - Diabetes/Endocrine

About the Role

Christchurch Outpatients Diabetes/Endocrine has an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team on a permanent contract (0.5FTE).

Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting the clinical team.  HCAs are trained to undertake delegated clinical tasks as directed by clinicians running the clinic, such as recording vital signs, visual testing etc.

You will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of clinics and will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking delegated clinical tasks and supporting clinicians
  • Maintaining clinic flow
  • General cleaning and setting up rooms
  • Ordering supplies and restocking
  • Chaperoning patients if required

About the Service

The Diabetes/Endocrine Services provide specialist clinical support and care for patients on the ground floor of the Christchurch Outpatient building

Our Healthcare Assistant team is essential to the effective delivery of outpatient services, ensuring clinics run efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

  • Recent health-related experience preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Computer literacy

  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
