Hospital Aide – Equipment Support, Emergency Dept

  • Day shifts across Monday to Friday
  • Supporting the Equipment Coordinator in our Emergency Department

About the Role and Service

We are based in the Waipapa building on Christchurch Hospital Campus in our own purpose-built Emergency Department. Our department is divided into functional areas and sees an average of 140,000 presentations per year.

We are looking for a person who shows initiative, is engaging, can work independently and well within a team in a fast-paced environment. 

There will be a focus on safety, quality and compliance, equipment maintenance, stock management and collaboration with other services within the organisation. The role ensures clinical spaces are adequately stocked, equipment is safe and functional and that staff, patients and whānau are supported in a professional, respectful and culturally appropriate manner.

About You

As an equipment support hospital aide, you will be responsible for carrying out daily tasks within your shift and working in collaboration with colleagues. You will be supported by the nursing team with ongoing educational opportunities specific to your role.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in healthcare or hospital aide role (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Demonstrates organisational skills and initiative
  • Can prioritise tasks and adapt to changing demands
