Hospital Aide - Oromairaki Community Birthing Unit

About the Role
Hospital Aides support the midwives’ role and are responsible for the domestic requirements of the unit. These include for example; ordering and serving meals, cleaning and stocking rooms, ordering and stocking linen, orientating women to the unit, supporting partner and whānau visiting and answering the phone.
We are looking for two Hospital Aides to cover a fixed-term contract due to parental leave until February 2027. The role is to be split as 0.4FTE (16hours per week) and 0.5FTE (20hours per week).
Shifts are rostered morning, afternoon and nights across
Monday – Sunday. We require flexibility for you to be rostered across all
shifts.
About You

Skills and Experience:
- Previous Hospital Aide experience and a First Aide Certificate an advantage
- A passion for primary birthing and breastfeeding
- A commitment to equity and our responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi within maternity services
- The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution
focused
